Abstract
Dichloro ethyl ether was applied to the soil under peach trees in an effort to control the plum curculio [ Cono-trachelus nenuphar]. The material was emulsified and applied as a spray at the rate of 4 gallons per tree. In one orchard 2 applications were made, the 1st at a strength of 11/2% when most of the larvae had left drop fruits, and the 2d 14 days later at a strength of 4.5%. In a 2d orchard 2 similar applications were made in one block, but another block received only the 1st application. The control indicated by the data was inferior to that obtained by Dr. O. I. Snapp in Georgia. Although the curculio infestation was light, Pb arsenate sprays and dusts seemed to account for most of the reduction in the curculio population. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
