Kinetics of Internal Steam Reforming of CH4 and Their Effect on SOFC Performance

Abstract
The kinetics of internal steam reforming of CH4 were studied in the SOFC: at temperatures 800–930°C on a Ni-YSZ cermet of measured Ni surface area, thus permitting computation of turnover frequencies. Optimal H2O to CH4 ratios were determined for maximization of the rate of the reforming reaction and of SOFC power production.
