QUANTIFYING THE DISTRIBUTION OF LACTIC ACID DEHYDROGENASE IN THE CORNEAL EPITHELIUM WITH OXYGEN DEPRIVATION

Abstract
The short term course of demonstrable lactic acid dehydrogenase activity with oxygen deprivation at the anterior surface of the cornea was quantified regionally (Part I) and the usefulness of this test as an indicator of anaerobic activity in the assessment of new contact lens materials explored (Part II).
