Abstract
I feel there are four basic tenants which can be set down for achieving successful project implementation and results. These are: (1) Counsel with management on the definition of the problem in the initial stages of the job, talk with decision-making levels of management as much as possible, and get top management's view of the problem, (2) Interact and communicate with management throughout the management science analysis. Present management with questions which require decisions, and obtain input from management. In short, make management a part of the team, (3) Discuss with management the results of the analysis as they are evolving. Provide management with the opportunity for give and take and the opportunity to render its opinions on indications of the study even in the preliminary stages. This will add important interpretation to the results as they evolve, possibly trigger new considerations requiring analysis, and prepare management for the ultimate conclusions of the study, and (4) If the management science analysis is to yield an on-going system, establish a means for on-going dialogue with management.
