Abstract
Summary: The bromination of p-aminosalicylic acid, sodium p-aminosalicylate and m-aminophenol has been studied using a variable excess of bromide/bromate solution. p-Aminosalicylic acid, sodium p-aminosalicylate and m-amino phenol brominate quantitatively regardless of the excess of bromide/bromate solution used. The basis for an assay process for p-aminosalicylic acid, sodium p-aminosalicylate and m-aminophenol has been described.
