Abstract
Three samples of vit. B12 and 1 of vit. Bl2b were clearly diamag-netic and must be covalent cobaltic complexes with octahedral d2sp3 bonding. Other samples of these vits. examined showed varying degrees of paramagnetic activity, presumed due to contamination with ferromagnetic impurities or to charring in sealing the tubes. The possibility, however, that these vits. may exist as cobaltous ionic compounds requires further investigatioa. Keywords
