Abstract
The 0–0 band of the 2Δ–2Π transition of CH has been remeasured from high-dispersion plates and more precise values of the Λ doubling in the 2Π state have been determined. From these optical measurements, the transition between the two components of the lowest rotational level can be predicted to lie at 3 400 Mc/sec. The possibility of finding CH and also other molecules in interstellar space by radio-frequency astronomical observations is discussed. Keywords
