Abstract
The extension to other related topics of work previously carried out on the application of paper chromatography to synthetic dyes1 is described. The identification of oxidation bases, of resin finishes on textiles, of reactive dyes on cellulose, and of fluorescent brightening agents is discussed, together with the use of thin‐layer chromatography in these fields. The interdependence of chromatography and other analytical techniques, e.g. ultraviolet absorption spectrophotometry, in identification work is demonstrated.
