Choosing inhaler devices for children with asthma

Abstract
Asthma is one of the commonest conditions in childhood. It affects at least 10 per cent of children and is thought to be increasing (1). Most of the children affected are managed in the community and nurses are often at the forefront of this management. Whether this care is delivered by a school nurse, health visitor, paediatric nurse, or practice nurse, nurses have a responsibility to recognise and treat asthma correctly.
