Abstract
New data are presented and analyzed, along with previous data, in a refinement of an earlier method of obtaining the density of states from measurements of the slope of the critical field at and . For Sn the data are consistent with the idea that is a function mainly of . For Ge the data do not indicate such a simple behavior, and a discussion is given of this discrepancy in terms of anomalies in the sample properties.
