Abstract
WE welcome this opportunity to express our view of the CMCHS, the plan recently developed by the Department of Defense to enlist civilian hospitals in a voluntary commitment of beds to provide care for military casualties from a future large-scale war overseas.Our organization, Physicians for Social Responsibility, is deeply committed to the task of meeting the health-care needs of our nation. In a time of war or national emergency, it is our highest priority to provide medical assistance to troops in combat.
