Abstract
Collisional effects on temporal plasma wave echo are examined on the basis of simple collision models, namely the relaxation term model and the Fokker-Planck type collision model. It is found that, besides the term varying as τ3, which is predicted by Su and Oberman, the Fokker-Planck type collision model also gives rise to a damping term varying as τ, where τ is the time interval between the two excitation pulses. The condition of observing the plasma wave echoes is γLτ> 1 ≫βτ, where γL is the imaginary part of the Landau zero point of the dielectric function and β the effective collision frequency. Under this condition, it is confirmed that the collisional damping of the plasma wave echoes varies as τ3.Keywords
