Abstract
It is pointed out that Pavlov''s principle of cortical irradiation is the focal point of his entire systematization of behavior. Six studies from his own laboratory are analyzed and found to oppose the fundamental assumption of this theory of cortical irradiation. Accordingly, it is concluded that Pavlov''s explanatory formulation of sleep, learning, neuroses[long dash]his entire system of behavior[long dash]lacks experimental verification. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
