Abstract
Nonprescription analgesics are generally safe and effective when used correctly for mild to moderate pain or fever. However, these agents do have risks, and selection of the best agent for a given patient requires consideration of a number of medication and patient factors. Consumers are encouraged to read and follow label instructions and to consult with a qualified health care provider, such as their pharmacist, for help in sorting out these factors and ensuring the best possible outcomes from nonprescription analgesic therapy. Keywords
