Abstract
The preparation of 37 potential antibacterial agents is described. Most of them possess the structure R—X—R’ where R and R’ are substituted phenyl groups and X is a short bridging group; 25 different examples of X have been studied. Minimum inhibitory concentrations against Staphylococcus aureus and against Escherichia coli are recorded. Keywords
