Abstract
Perezia fumiferanae (Microsporida: Nosematidae), a parasite of Choristoneura fumiferana (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), occurs within several tissues of the host. Schizonts occur within both nucleus and cytoplasm and are separated from the host only by their own membrane. The ultrastructure of the schizonts supports the suggestion that P. fumiferanae is a member of the genus Nosema.
