Abstract
Most laboratory rubber stoppers are extremely toxic to animal tissues cultivated in synthethic media. Exhaustive extraction of toxic stoppers with organic solvents or prolonged heating with alkali and acid failed to reduce this toxicity. When stoppers from different sources were tested, one particular type was found to be relatively non-toxic.Keywords
