Abstract
The sarcoplasmic reticulum membrane proteins were studied in 10 patients with Duchenne dystrophy by acrylamide gel electrophoresis. Two distinctly abnormal patterns in the distribution of six proteins were identified. Although the patients could be separated biochemically into two groups, no such distinction could be made from the clinical or clinical laboratory findings. The syndrome of Duchenne dystrophy may include at least two biochemically distinct diseases. Keywords
