Signal-To-Noise Measurements For A Screen-Film System

Abstract
The signal-to-noise ratio associated with recording Q quanta may be defined in terms of a lesser number of noise-equivalent quanta (NEQ). Measurements are presented here for a screen-film system as used to record x-rays, and the results are expressed in three-dimen-sional form by mapping out the NEQ surface as a function of exposure and spatial frequency.© (1984) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
