Abstract
The present experiments were concerned with the contour effect. The disk and the ring were provided by a black paper on a white background. They were so arranged as to be a concentric circle. CPT was measured by varying pause between the disk and the ring. Results were as follows: 1. CPT decreases with the increase of width of the ring. 2. The spatial relationships between the disk and the ring are important in the contour effect. 3. There is an optimal overlap between two figures upon CPT. 4. The more separation between them increases, the more CPT decreases. Keywords
