Abstract
A marine denitrifying microorganism isolated from the Clyde Sea Area, and used for previous experimental work with Cranston on denitrification, is here described. It is named Bacillus costatus (p. 94), type cultures in American Collection of Type Cultures and British Collection of Type Cultures. The cultural, morphological and physiological features of this organism are given, and a summary of the experimental results is appended.
