Do Better Students Perform Better in the Clinic?: Relationship of Academic Grades to Clinical Ratings

Abstract
Grade point average data were obtained from the records of 285 physical therapy alumni of Indiana University. Based on correlation coefficients, answers to two broad questions were sought: Are academic grades significantly related to successful performance of students in the clinic? Are some specific aspects of the learning experiences better predictors than others of clinical ratings of students? The conclusions relating to each question were affirmative.
