Abstract
The threshold photoelectron spectrum of helium has been obtained over the energy range 65.0-80.3 eV. In this energy region threshold photoelectron peaks corresponding to He+(n) states, with n from 2 to 12, have been observed. At the double-ionisation energy a weak cusp-like feature has been observed that is attributed to electron-electron correlation effects. The measured shape of the feature is found to be consistent with the predictions of the Wannier model. Keywords
