Abstract
2(1H)-quinolinone (1) and 3,4-dihydro-6-hydroxy-2(1H)-quinolinone (2) were isolated from Ayurvedic processed commercial root tubers of Aconitum ferox and identified with the help of spectral information. Neither compound was found in the unprocessed root tubers of the same provenance. Spectral data of the O-acetyl-derivative (2a) of 2 are reported. Keywords
