Abstract
We present an expression for the rate of correlated Coulomb dissociation of both colliding nuclei at a heavy-ion collider. For the case of Au + Au at RHIC, the cross section for mutual correlated dissociation is about 3 barns. This process should be cleanly measured with very forward (zero degree) calorimeters proposed for RHIC. We also discuss prospects for luminosity monitoring using this process. Keywords
