Abstract
The temperature dependence of the peak counting rates of gamma - gamma angular correlation curves of positron annihilation has been measured for the alloy Cu 50.0 at.% Au and anomalous changes in the peak counting rates near the order-disorder transition temperature have been observed. The peak counting rates of the disordered phase were fitted to the trapping model to make it apparent how ordering phenomena affected positron annihilation. The reasons for such effects have been proposed. In particular, the abnormal increase of the peak counting rates just below the temperature at which the transition between the disordered state and CuAuII occurs suggests the formation of new trapping sites for positrons. Keywords
