Abstract
The EC dairy model was developed to simulate the long-term effects of various dairy policies. Its basic elements are a supply section, a demand section and balance equations. It pays special attention to the aggregation of the different dairy products. The model is intended to examine questions arising during policy-making. After explaining its principles, its predictions of the effects of eleven policy aspects are evaluated. Economic measures receive most attention. Data and parameters are discussed as is a simulation of long-term policy effects of four alternative policies over the period 1984–2000‘.Keywords
