Abstract
An electrostatic four cylinder electrode electron optical lens system is described. It is designed for experiments where beam energy scanning is needed. The lens system was investigated experimentally and results are given. The characteristics of the lens system have also been calculated theoretically following a procedure known from the light optical lens design. These calculations have justified the design procedure and showed that the composite lens system characteristics can be directly computed very successfully. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
