Abstract
Two cases are reported which show the association of pheochromocytoma with von Hippel-Lindau's disease. Furthermore, the presence of the same syndrome in two other members of the family is suggested. the histological findings of large amounts of amyloid in the hyaline stroma of the tumours and prominent ganglioneuromatous components in one of the tumours are particularly pointed to. Accumulating knowledge on the association between pheochromocytoma and neurocutaneous disorders suggests that there may exist a common origin in these cases possibly related to the primitive neuroectodermal tissue. Keywords
