Abstract
An eight-year-old boy fell and struck the right mastoid region, with immediate onset of vertigo, nystagmus, and right deafness. No fracture was found, and emergency tympanotomy disclosed an intact ossicular chain, rupture of the annular ligament, and cerebrospinal fluid gushing from the oval window. Treatment is described, possible explanations are discussed, and pertinent literature reviewed. Keywords
