Abstract
A case of bacterial endocarditis due to B. abortus is described in a 35-year old white man. The disease was engrafted on pre-existing rheumatic disease of the aortic valve. The diagnosis was based on a classical clinical picture and course with positive blood cultures and characteristic agglutinations. No source of infection was found. Treatment with Aureomycin and streptomycin was successful and the patient survived without functional impairment. Keywords
