Abstract
Ten hospital patients with candidal infection of the urinary bladder were treated with continuous bladder irrigation with amphotericin B (50 mg/1,000 ml of sterile water via a three-way catheter for 24 hours for five days). No evidence of drug toxicity was observed. Infection was eradicated in seven patients. The three failures had clinical and serological evidence of disseminated infection that required systemic therapy. Keywords
