On non-singular information matrices and local identifiability

Abstract
The relation between non-singularity of the information matrix and local identifiability of the parameters is discussed. For some model structures these two properties arc shown to be equivalent. However, there are also cases where a singular information matrix does not contradict local identifiability.Keywords
