The effect of haemodynamic changes on maximum blood flow acceleration at the aortic root in the anaesthetized, open-chest dog

Abstract
The effect of load changes on various indices of myocardial function was investigated in anaesthetized open-chest dogs. Alterations of left ventricular end diastolic volume were associated with changes of maximum acceleration, peak flow, and maximum dP/dt, as were sudden changes in afterload (aortic impedance). (Max dP/dt)/IP was not affected by these manoeuvres.
