Optical Deflector with Tandem Electrodes Using PLZT Ceramics

Abstract
Optical deflectors utilizing the electro-optic effect have simple construction, while the deflection angle is small. Aiming at larger deflection angle, we propose a new type deflector, which consists of a PLZT rectangular solid plate and tandem triangular electrodes on its top and bottom surfaces. This deflector has larger deflection angle than the deflector with twin triangular electrodes we have already reported. It is considered that this deflector is promising for the practical use.
