Abstract
Royal Netherlands Navy, The Medical Department, Lt.-Cdr Sq, Royal Naval College, Den Helder, The Netherlands Eighty three patients with traumatic soft tissue disorders were studied in a double blind completely randomized trial comparing 150 mg and 100 mg indomethacin (Indocid®) daily against placebo. Indomethacin was effective in reducing spontaneous pain, tenderness, swelling and limitation of movement. No serious side effects were observed. The results in this study indicate that 150 mg indomethacin daily is to be preferred over the 100 mg dose, especially in severe cases. Keywords
