Abstract
Twenty-nine healthy rabbits were exposed to acute whole body X-irradiation in dosages ranging from 600-850 r. Serial detns. of serum K and Na concns. were made. None of the deaths occurring from either. radiation shock or radiation sickness could be attributed to a significant change in these serum electrolytes. In several instances a high serum K was noted at the time of death in rabbits dying from radiation shock. This appeared to be a terminal event, rather than an etiologically related phenomenon. Keywords
