Abstract
Povidone-iodine rapidly inactivated Chlamydia trachomatis suspensions in vitro at 37°C when assayed in fertile hens eggs. Fertile eggs were not protected from the lethal effect of C. trachomatis when the germicide was added after intracellular replication of the micro-organisms would have begun.Keywords
