Abstract
A partial substitution of the oxygen ions by fluorine in BaO·6 is reported. The new compound with a formula near to Ba·2FeO·5 has at room temperature a magnetization saturation of 72 cgs units/gram compared to 67 cgs units/gram for BaO·6 . The specific gravity, Curie temperature, and unit cell dimensions are practically the same for both compounds.
