Study of the $e^+e^- \to D^{(*)}\bar{D}^*$ cross section in the center of mass energy range near $D^{(*)}\bar{D}^*$ threshold with initial state radiation
Abstract
We report measurements of the exclusive $e^+e^- \to D^{(*)} \bar{D}{}^*$ cross section as a function of center-of-mass energy near the $D^{(*)}\bar{D}{}^$ threshold with initial state radiation. A partial reconstruction technique involving full reconstruction of one $D^{(*)}$ and reconstruction of the slow pion from the other $D^*$ is used to increase the efficiency and to suppress background. The analysis is based on a data sample collected with the Belle detector at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance and nearby continuum with an integrated luminosity of 547.8 $\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ at the KEKB asymmetric energy $e^+e^-$ collider.
