Abstract
Hematological and biochemical parameters in 5 thoroughbred foals during the 1st 6 mo. of life were reported. The samples were analyzed for red blood cells, packed cell volume, Hb, platelets, white blood cells, absolute number for leukocytes and erythrocyte fragility and serum Ca, Pi, Na, K, Cl, Mg, alkaline phosphatase, icterus index unit, bilirubin, blood urea nitrogen, nonprotein nitrogen, blood glucose, lactic dehydrogenase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase, glutamic oxalacetic transaminase, total protein, albumin, globulin and A/G [albumin/globulin]. The changes of these parameters were presented in relation to age after birth. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
