Measurement of Zincate Permeation in a Polyethylene Battery Separator with Controlled External Hydrodynamic Conditions

Abstract
A rotating disk geometry has been used to characterize solution‐side transport resistance in measurements of zincate permeation in battery separator material. The apparent diffusivity of zincate was in a polyethylene, acrylic acid grafted and divinylbenzene cross‐linked membrane, and was independent of zincate concentration up to . In the temperature range 11°–27°C, the activation energy for diffusion of zincate in the membrane is 6.1 kcal/mol.
