Abstract
Unit cell dimensions of hydroxylapatite synthesized hydrothermally are a0 = 9.426 Å and c0 = 6.885 Å, whereas carbonate apatite (2.29 CO2) gave a0 = 9.436 Å and c0 = 6.885 Å. A deficiency of both calcium and phosphorus in the carbonate apatite suggests a coupled substitution of hydronium and carbonate ions in the structure. Keywords
