Abstract
The half-life of the free neutron has been measured by a cloud-chamber method. It turned out to be 12.7 min with an error of ∼15%, ∼10% being due to the poor statistics. This determination has about the same accuracy as the best previous measurement and confirms it by an independent method. Keywords
