Abstract
Representation of ``receiving-end'' systems by simplified equivalent circuits, for use in steady state stability studies of electric power transmission systems, is discussed in this paper. Various methods of approximate representation are analyzed, compared, and evaluated. Comparative analyses of a specific problem indicates that the simplified method that replaces the receiving-end system by an equivalent generator and an equivalent load is sufficiently accurate for engineering purposes. Keywords
