Abstract
This method is a modification of one previously described (Indust. and Eng. Chem., Anal. Ed., 4: 357. 1932), suitable for routine analysis (in which high accuracy is not desired) of air containing 0.01-6.0% C02. Air to be analyzed is bubbled through standard solution of NaHCO3 and pH determined colorimetrically by Hellige color discs. The p CO2 in air can be estimated from this pH by standardization curves. For p CO2 below 1% and with bromthymol blue, cresol red, and alpha-naphthaphthalein as indicators, the standardization curve is given. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
