Abstract
By reporting a hitherto (?) unknown primary lesion in bejel, the author believes he has additional proof of his contention that bejel is only a modified type of syphilis. The development of a primary chancre only occurs under conditions of mass infection which are extremely rare in the normal non-venereal methods of transmission of bejel (endemic syphilis) from child to child. Keywords
