Abstract
Methionine labeled with S35 was injd. through the jugular vein. The protein of the intestinal mucosa showed the highest isotope conc. The same result occurred when tyrosine labelled with C14 was injd. intravenously. The fact that the intestinal mucosa showed the highest specific activity may be a result of actual increased protein synthesis. This may be a compensation for an excessive tendency of the mucosa to lose enzymes and mucous-proteins.Keywords
