Abstract
Though sexuality information is a crucial component of nursing education, it often receives a low curricular priority. This paper suggests an approach to teaching sexuality in the very limited time period that may be allotted to the topic in nursing schools. The approach involves developing one basic principle—that sexual activity and intercourse are not synonymous—and applying that to nursing practice. Specific examples involving treatment of infectious diseases, postsurgical advice, and changes associated with aging are discussed in this context. Keywords
