Abstract
Whole-body x-irradiation with high doses produces an increase in the 5-hydroxytryptamine-content in the brain of normal rats and mice. This effect was obtained with smaller doses only in adrenalectomized rats. Shielding of the head or body did not suppress this phenomenon. The same holds true of pre-treatment with iproniazid or reserpine. Keywords
